Significance of Name or Number?
My derby name incorporates my first name and implies a level of toughness that comes with derby. My number is significant because it is the same number I used when playing other sports.
When Did you start playing Roller Derby?
What do you like the most about Roller Derby?
I had no idea that when I joined this team, I would essentially gain a new family of brothers and sisters almost immediately that i could share, learn, and laugh with. We have so much fun together that my cheeks often hurt from smiling and laughing. Being in an environment with no judgement and 110% support is something everyone should experience!
I was born and rasied in Atmore, Alabama and I am also a Poarch Creek Indian. I came to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama where i received my undergraduate and graduate degrees. While attending UA, I tried out for the inaugural softball team and went on to play four years with the Tide. I have played team sports most of my life and have always enjoyed competing. Roller derby is new and different for me because it is a contact sport and so far I am loving every second of it!
